Led by professional photographer Erica Whiting, this four-week class introduces participants to the foundational skills of photography. Students will learn basic camera anatomy, exposure, shutter speed, depth of field, and navigating settings. Each week includes hands-on practice photographing still-life objects and subjects in natural light, as well as learning to freeze or blur motion intentionally. Participants will also learn to import and view photos on a computer. This class is ideal for beginners or anyone new to their camera.
Other topics include shutter speed, and depth of field. Each week participants will make photos they have composed and created using techniques taught in this class. We will practice with still-life objects and a variety of natural lighting conditions (no flash), as well as learning how to photograph objects in motion to freeze motion or create intentional motion blur. Each class includes hands on practice and verbal and visual instruction.
Perfect for beginners who’ve never picked up a camera or recently purchased one and thought okay, where do I start?
$80 for members, $90 for non-members. Members use the code PHOTO for your discount.
