In Borderlands, Rob Katkowski explores the threshold between the seen and unseen through a series of evocative, otherworldly landscapes. His paintings suggest mysterious entry points into alternate realms—twilight doorways, silent sentinels, and shimmering ponds that hint at hidden depths. These scenes evoke a sense of transition and wonder, where multiple worlds may coexist just beyond our reach.
Katkowski’s work dwells in spaces where reality grows thin—offering fleeting glimpses of portals, disconnection, and possibility. Through his richly imagined compositions, viewers are invited to pause and consider what lies beyond the borders of the known.

Join Erie ClaySpace for a fiery night of art in action! We’re bringing the heat to Gallery Night with a live Raku firing demo on the patio of the Erie Art Museum.
Visitors will get a chance to select a handmade pottery piece, glaze it themselves, and then watch it transform before their eyes as it’s pulled from a red-hot kiln and finished using the ancient Japanese Raku technique. Expect dramatic flames, crackling textures, and one-of-a-kind results — every piece is a surprise!

About the work: Eric Anthony Berdis’ Don’t let them clip your tiny little insect wings celebrates LGBTQ+ folks, reflects on the historical struggles of the community’s past, and encourages allyship. Comprised of quilted fabric bug collages crafted by Berdis and community members, the show memorializes LGBTQ+ people who persevered in the past, while acknowledging those who persist today. Folks of ALL ages and art abilities are invited to make a bug (or two) to either take home or contribute to the archive. Bugs donated are seen as gifts that later get quilted with care by the artist.
The bug archive has grown and continued to grow substantially thanks to support from Erie Arts and Culture and Waterloo Art and The Day Glow Color Corp, that allowed for workshops to continuously happen over the previous years.

From flour-dusted prep tables to clinking cocktail shakers, laughter at the bar to that first slice disappearing off a plate—this is A. Francisco’s. Come take a look, stay awhile.
