About the Instructor - Niecey Nicole

Niecey Nicole, Erie native, contributing writer, humorist, teaching artist and activist. Amongst her greatest achievements: mother of two, Fighting Scot (Edinboro University Grad), 2020/2021 Erie County Poet Laureate Finalist, 2023 Lydia McCain Emerging Artist and 1st Inaugural SLAM Poetry Champion in Erie.

She's best known for writing poetry, performing spoken word and activism. She connects with the community as a Clinical Care Support, Docent and Teaching Artist.

As a queer, educated black mother, she's passionate about Trauma Informed Care, equal rights and the advancement of the disenfranchised- bringing assistance and awareness through community service, spoken word and literacy. A retired civil servant, Niecey is currently working on a book and in the studio recording melodic speech.
