About the Instructor - Barbara Yerace
"Barbara Thomas Yerace is a glass artist and the owner of Yerace Glass Studio in Erie, Pennsylvania. Since first discovering hot glass at Carnegie Mellon University in 1980, she has dedicated more than four decades to exploring the expressive possibilities of the medium through both blown and lampworked glass.
Barbara's work is inspired by the brilliance of pure color and the beauty of the natural world. Drawing from landscapes, wildlife, and the diversity of Earth's forms and environments, she creates both one-of-a-kind sculptural works and a line of production glass that celebrate light, movement, and vibrant color.
She earned her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and continued her studies through postgraduate work at The Ohio State University, as well as intensive training at renowned institutions including Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, the Corning Museum of Glass, Sonoran Glass School, and Pittsburgh Glass Center. Her work is represented in galleries throughout Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New York."
