The Spring Show has served as a platform for regional artists to share their work, and as a link between the regional and national art worlds. Visiting jurors bring their perspective, experience, and a fresh set of eyes. In turn, the artists give them a more nuanced view of our region, the influences of the distinctive local art scene, and our part in the mosaic that constitutes contemporary art making. The Spring Show art in our collection samples this exchange through time, forming a unique, regional record of artistic styles, themes, and individuals, from the mid-20th century through the present day. Hundreds of individuals have supported the continuation of this tradition with their gifts of time, art, and donations. Please join us, with our sponsors, Nicole and Harry Martin, and PennWest Edinboro’s Art Department's Visiting Artist & Speaker Endowment, as we celebrate the Spring Show’s 100th anniversary, and a century of Erie’s art history.
