Downtown Erie comes alive for one night as galleries and businesses throw open their doors, filling the streets with art, music, food, and people enjoying the city together. It's a self-guided, citywide gallery-hop — view the map, follow one of several walkable loops, and pop into as many stops as you like, no plan required. Each gallery holds something different: new work, live music, artists on hand to talk about what they've made.

The main show will feature work from Let’s Get Free’s permanent collection. Let’s Get Free is a Pittsburgh-based organization working to end perpetual punishment and build a pathway out of prisons and back to our communities. The work in their collection features pieces made by both prisoners and artists that stand in solidarity with ending mass incarceration. Our Bonus show will be a one night only presentation featuring performances and creative works based around dance, movement, music, and visual art.

Eddie Mitchell's Loving Life is an exuberant celebration of light, color, and the everyday beauty that surrounds us. Working in acrylic and oil on canvas, Mitchell brings an infectious joy to his florals, water, and sky. He paints with lush, euphoric color and a masterful layering of technique, from smooth passages to pointillist dabs and impasto texture. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he now teaches alongside Lakeland Community College, Mitchell draws on a deep knowledge of art history in service of work that is warmly his own.
