Slow Art Day

  • Erie Art Museum 20 East 5th Street Erie, PA, 16507 United States (map)

Slow Art Day is on Saturday, April 13th! It is an annual, international event held in art museums, inviting individuals to pause and adopt a deliberate approach to viewing selected artworks. Fundamentally, Slow Art Day aims to disrupt the rapid pace of contemporary life by promoting thoughtful engagement with visual art. This is a pay-what-you-wish day at the Museum!

Join us for the following programs throughout the day:

  • Guided meditation sessions led by DaVona Pacley, the owner and operator of Flow Freely—a holistic wellness business in Erie specializing in doula support, reiki energy healing, and meditation services. During these sessions, participants are encouraged to embrace a mindful meditation experience, prompted by reflection from 11 am - 1 pm

  • Drawing at the Museum: spend time mindfully drawing with your medium of choice in the Museum galleries from 2 - 4 pm

  • PennWest Art Therapy Program: Virtual Slow Art Day: engage with works from Entre Plantas y Mujeres through PennWest’s Virtual Studio, 5:30 - 7 pm | Registration Required
