Musical Theatre Dance Class

All That… Jazz!

Class Description

Open 16+ (Beginner-friendly, no experience needed!); Drop in for just one class or join us for all four - the choice (and the fun) is yours! Love Broadway? Crave that showbiz sparkle?

Start the new year on the right foot... literally! This adult dance class brings the magic of musical theatre to life, no stage required. Whether you’re brand new to dance or returning after a long break, January is the perfect time to shake off the winter blues, get moving, and rediscover joy through dance.

Each class kicks off with an energizing warm-up to get your body moving and your blood flowing. We’ll focus on stretching, cardio, and simple jazz-based movement. Think of it as a mini workout with a Broadway twist.

Then it’s showtime: you'll learn a choreographed combo set to a classic or contemporary Broadway (or Off-Broadway) tune. Choreography is rooted in musical theatre jazz, with influences from ballet, modern, and hip hop. Some routines will reflect iconic stage choreography, while others will be fresh, original pieces created just for you.

No experience? No problem.

This class is truly open-level: great for absolute beginners, seasoned movers, or anyone in between. You’ll be supported with modifications and encouraged to move at your own pace and comfort level.

About the Instructor - Sara Little

Sara Little began dancing 40 years ago right here in Erie at the Little Dance Studio, where she trained under Catherine Little and Sandra Little Barnett. She built a strong technical foundation through years of study in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, hip hop, swing, contemporary and Irish step - training that continues to inspire and shape her teaching today.

A seasoned performer and educator, Sara has danced on stages from Erie to New York City and began teaching in her teens. Over the past 28+ years, she has taught students of all ages and experience levels, both locally and virtually across the U.S. Her students have included curious first-timers, recreational dancers and aspiring professionals alike.

Sara remains an active part of Erie’s performing arts scene as a director, choreographer, and performer. She was most recently seen on stage in Pippin at PACA, is directing the PACA and Footlights Theatre production of PUFFS in May 2026, and is continuing to dance with Little Dance Studio as they celebrate their 100th year of dance at the Warner Theatre. She also continues to grow her own artistry through master classes and ongoing training in tap, jazz, Irish step, and dance history.

Sara’s classes are joyful, inclusive and full of energy. Whether you're stepping into dance for the first time or reconnecting with a longtime passion, she’s here to help you move with confidence, creativity and heart.
