Holiday Card Making Workshop

Class Description

In this family-friendly programming, participants are invited to celebrate the winter season by creating festive holiday cards using simple collage techniques. Utilizing precut paper shapes, you’ll design cheerful compositions with snowmen, ornaments, Christmas trees, stockings, or reindeer. Personalize each card with markers and other drawing media to add greetings or messages.

This workshop is fun and approachable for all skill levels. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a handmade card(s) perfect for sharing with family, friends, or to decorate your home.

Ages 5+ (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Price

This class is operating on a sliding scale. You may purchase the class at a rate you feel financially comfortable with, up to the maximum class cost of $25. All students will receive the same instruction regardless of payment.

This is a drop-in workshop and no registration is required!

About the Instructor - Lorena Alverez

Lorena Alvarez was born in Mexico and raised partly in Milwaukee, but mainly in Mexico City. She has lived in Brazil, Mexico and various states in the United States. She received her Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design with a Minor in Illustration from Universidad Anahuac, in Mexico City. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art with a concentration in Motion Graphics in Savannah College of Art and Design, in Georgia. For the next years she worked in her field, Graphic Design, started her freelance business and has been raising a family. Following the example of Grandma Moses, who turned to an art career only until she retired from her farm duties, Lorena saw the opportunity to change careers once her children became self-sufficient. She is currently pursuing a Master in Fine Arts Degree in Painting with a Minor in Printmaking where she was awarded a graduate assistantship.
