About The Instructor
Nicole Catalfamo is an artist and educator from Grove City, Pennsylvania and now living in Erie for over half a decade. A Master of Fine Arts graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from Edinboro University, she has extensive experience in the printmaking forms of intaglio, lithography, and monotype, as well as drawing and painting. Her education has included intensives and artist residencies in California and Italy, and she currently teaches art at Erie County Community College and Dafmark’s 21st Century Art Center, with studio space at The Shop at 19th and Chestnut. Much of her work involves the natural world, with the belief the landscape can be used to illustrate deeper truths about our human experience. Utilizing the natural environment as a metaphor, it inspires those who look to see often overlooked forms and patterns in nature.
