Blues & Jazz Festival
Erie Art Museum Blues and Jazz Festival
August 2 & 3, 2008
Frontier Park, Erie, PA
Free. Rain or Shine.
A free, two-day event, the festival celebrates a great mix of music and culture that brings thousands of friends and families together each year. Held every first weekend in August at Frontier Park, the Erie Art Museum Blues & Jazz Festival features several performances by local, national and international acts. A mainstay of Erie for over ten years, the festival always opens with a children's performance at noon on Saturday. Included in the festivities are arboretum tours of the park, children's activities, and, as always, great food by local vendors. Organized by the Erie Art Museum, the Blues and Jazz Festival is made possible through generous contributions by sponsors and granting agencies and by the dedication and hard work from hundreds of volunteers each year.
PLEASE NOTE NEW FESTIVAL POLICIES:
Due to the increasing attendance at the Festival, the Erie Art Museum will enforce a strict tent policy this year. In addition to regulating tent placement, the Erie Art Museum will not permit any tents to be set-up prior to 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Festival staff will strictly enforce this regulation. All tents set-up prior to this time will be taken down and can be redeemed at the Festival's Information Tent. Additionally, please note that overnight camping at Frontier Park is against City of Erie ordinance, as is open-flame cooking (e.g. charcoal grills and turkey fryers) and that City of Erie police will be strictly enforcing this rule. Propane grills are permitted.
