Here’s an update on the status of the Erie Art Museum’s expansion:

• Working hard to finish our $11 million capital campaign, including securing a prestigious Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant of $600,000. We have crossed the $10 million mark and have only $65,000 to go to successfully complete the campaign and win the Challenge Grant!

• Generating economic growth as a major tourist destination in Erie’s historic downtown corridor.

• Setting an example, as the first ever LEED-certified “Green” building in Erie. Our design choices promote environmental sustainability and substantially cut down on energy and utility costs.

• Welcoming the community, with large parts of the Museum free and open to the public, including a public meeting space at our new unified entrance and a beautiful outdoor garden.

• Expanding our impact, with major new galleries and programming as well as a stunning performance space that accommodates 275 people.

• Making it “fabulous,” with a bright, airy café open to the public, an expanded gift shop, and elegant event spaces that both generate revenue and provide a unique option for conferences, corporate meetings, weddings, and parties.

• Leading the way. Our Board members have given over $1.3 million and have expertly guided us through the expansion process, while our staff is the heart and soul of our organization and has been behind every one of our many achievements.

• Ensuring a secure financial future, through the creation of a $1.5 million endowment.

We need your help now more than at any other time!

• Contribute to the Kresge Challenge Grant today. Every dollar counts! Pledges can be paid
over 5 years.

• Include the Erie Art Museum in your will.

• Join us for a tour, and see the entire new and renovated facility.

• Spread the word about all of our wonderful programs and exhibits and especially about our exciting new expansion. Tell our community leaders how important Erie Art Museum is to the vitality of Erie!
