The exhibition includes traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques. Andy Farkas’s artist book “Four Stories” is comprised of stories written by the artist, printed in letterpress and illustrated with Farkas’s finely detailed wood engravings. Franz Spohn shows two rich, atmospheric etchings, including Goosey Gander Bug-a-boo, as Spohn describes it, “a goose in semi sleep/insomnia beset by two bug apparitions”. Bethany Seib’s photolithographs reveal a contradiction of vibrantly colored images that conceal disturbing truths. John Lysak displays a suite of two monoprints loosely based on war, entitled Stupid Giant and Happy Pig. The show also includes an intaglio and woodcut by William Mathie, sculptural prints by Danielle Bartone, and monoprints of organic forms by Katherine McGinn. Other printmakers exhibited are Fran Mason, Kate Bender, and Sean Murphy.
