Garden
of Icons by Kristina Faulkner
July 9 - August 23, 2002
Installation artist Kristina Faulkner
exhibited Garden of Icons, an installation of her paintings, greenery
and found objects, in the Frame Shop Gallery through August 23, 2002.
Although Faulkner completed formal art training, she is often referred to as
an "Outsider Artist." Her work deals primarily with icons in religion,
the stories told by icons and the faces that popular culture idolizes. In this
installation, Faulkner has brought together her paintings of religious symbolism,
contemporary icons and a constructed greenhouse with various plants and trees,
creating what she hopes will create a peaceful refuge for the viewer
