Taking Liberties:
Photographs by David Graham

Collage artist Georgia Trimper drew imagery from ancient parchment maps to use as metaphors for life experiences in her exhibit, Mapped Facets, on display in the Frame Shop Gallery.

Since receiving her BFA from Buffalo State College, Trimper has exhibited widely throughout the tri-state area, including the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, Burchfield-Penney Art Center, and the Albright-Knox Gallery. In this exhibit, she created a series of autobiographical statements using map symbols and a variety of media. Trimper puts together unique materials, ranging from shower curtains to ironing boards, all secured and stitched by hand, to create her large collages.
