77th Annual Spring Show

The 77th Annual Spring Show juried, regional exhibit on display in the Erie Art Museum main gallery featured all media from local and regional artists. Juror Anne Ellegood, a reviewer for New York Arts magazine and a Curatorial Associate at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan, selected 79 works by 61 artists from over four hundred entries.

Anne Ellegood is an art writer and curator living in New York. Ms. Ellegood is a reviewer for NY Arts magazine and a Curatorial Associate at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan. Among her recent curatorial projects are the New Museum exhibitions The Time of Our Lives (1999), which she co-curated with Marcia Tucker, and Fever: The Art of David Wojnarowicz (1999). She organized the exhibition Unbearable Laughter: Nicole Eisenman, Kara Walker, Sue Williams (1998) for the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, and co-curated with Wendy McDaris the traveling exhibition Elvis + Marilyn: 2 x IMMORTAL, which premiered at the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston in 1994 and toured to fifteen additional venues, including six in Japan. Two exchange exhibitions in sculpture which she organized for Parsons School of Design and Rhode Island School of Design opened in January in New York and Providence. Ms. Ellegood is currently organizing, with Wendy McDaris, the traveling exhibition Visualizing the Blues: 140 Years of the American South in Photographs, which opens at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis in October of this year.
