Kids As Curators - 2006
Students from Union City paid homage to the Union City Chair Company by creating thrones devoted to their particular obsessions.
Students at Iroquois, inspired by Hurricane Katrina and the drama of our local meteorology, created an exhibit around weather accessories.
Erie’s Pfieffer-Burleigh students collaborated with artist-in-residence John Vahanian in creating ghostly chicken-wire sculptures of students surrounded by collections from home and school that served to illustrate a story about recycling.
St. Andrews students, in league with sculptor-in-residence Suzanne Proulx-Bavaro, offered us a glimpse of what different generations reveal and conceal through their collections of clothing, toys, media, and sporting memorabilia.
We did a lot of work to make this happen.
I thought it looked really nice. I couldn’t picture it looking that niceā¦it was cool.
Wow! The impact at first glance is amazing!
My impression was that people put a lot of thought into the exhibit.
Fabulous, great work, effort, color galore.
Keep on truckin’. I see the faces upon students and hope their future will include art in their daily diet.
