Kids As Curators - Union City 2006

Seventh grade students learned that Union City, at the turn of the 20th century, was one of this country's largest chair manufacturers. They also studied The Throne of the Third Heaven, a work of folk art by James Hampton. He made a lavish altar out of tin foil and found objects. Each student, using a child's resin chair as a base, created a piece that reflected his or her own collections and interests.
