Trimurti: The Hindu Gods
Little Things Gallery
Drawing from the Museum's extensive collection of South Asian art, this exhibit shows the many faces of god in the eyes of Hinduism. Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the nurturer, and Shiva, the protector, form the Hindu Trimurti, or trinity. Each facet is further divided into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, each depicting a particular aspect of the supreme god. Bronze, brass and stone sculptures are on display, along with prints and paintings, all from greater India. |
